Leave this to ice skating. They look awful even when performed well. There are many other moves (many of them banned and no one knows why) that are equally difficult and far more artistic

Why is the angle measured when it’s measured? I mean what was the reason you stopped the video at that exact moment to measure the angle? What does the gymnast do for you to know “this is the angle”? To me it looked like she was spinning around at many different angles

Ridiculousness at its best!! Some of those moves cannot be done without having the legs separated, try them and see flexed foot really? The code of points now is looking for more dance than physical tumbling and difficult moves. I did not like the thin as a rail female doing those rocking motions and showing the rib cage not a good thing to see. You can use the entire body without doing that! NOBODY is perfect on any apparatus there will always be deductions but some of them are not justified!!

I dont like her. She's not beautiful and her gymnastic is all about acrobatics

New video idea request please: can you re-score hezly and leanne’s trials (beam and bars) scores? I felt like the scoring there was a bit wonky.

They all got a tenth on balance. Balance also has to do with arm position. You can’t break shape some of them are even .3

On top of those I'd take 0.1 (maybe 0.3) on her front pike on tucking too early, 0.1 on her back pike on insufficient pike, and 0.2 on her L turn - precision and body position 0.1 each. And I think her dismount low chest is a 0.3

Basically: *falls off beam* “I’ve got nothing so far, no deductions. no reason for the judges to look down”

I could see a time in the near future where AI takes over the determination of most of the execution score, with a human judge's eye relegated to evaluations of artistry and choreography exclusively. And if that happens, it will make scores much more fair and objective.

Excellent analysis! I would like very much to watch a video with a perfect 10 beam routine of Nadia Comaneci acording to current code of points. I think it would get around 9, not counting artistry deductions. It’s not possible to make this analysis with her uneven bars routine, as it was so different in the 70s. But beam would be a great video.
